To travel from Cartagena to Isla Grande, there area two transportation options:
🚤 ROUTE 1:
Recommended agency:
MARY CARTAGENA TRAVEL: Daily departures from Cartagena between 8:30 and 9:00 am by direct boat from Cartagena to the islands across the open sea. Return from Isla Grande between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm (exact time varies daily). Arrival at La Bodeguita Pier between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

Rates: 100,000 COP per person per trip. You must also pay an additional fee of 31,500 COP to enter the dock and the National Park, and 9,000 COP for mandatory insurance.

⚠️ Important: Many agencies operate at La Bodeguita Dock, which can be confusing. Some offer lower prices, but do not always guarantee safe or reliable service. For your safety and peace of mind, we recommend booking only with the suggested agency and doing so in advance. Please note that the journey is on the open sea, where the waves can be strong, especially on the return trip to Cartagena.

This option is ideal for those who wish to avoid the open sea or prefer greater schedule flexibility.
How does it work?
You will depart by private car from Cartagena (location and time to be agreed upon, between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.). The land journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to the town of Barú. There, a private boat will be waiting to take you to Isla Grande on a 20-minute trip through inland waters (more protected from the waves).
Rates: COP 260,000 per trip (1 or 2 people). COP 130,000 per additional person.
Reservations: 📞 Write to us on WhatsApp or call us at +57 316 4824080 to coordinate your pickup and meeting point. This option requires a reservation at least 24 hours in advance.
If you wish to use this same route for the return trip, we can coordinate it directly during your stay on the island.
